Impression of Travel

Long Beach, CA  ✸  2025

Impressions of Travel drift across the façade of Long Beach Airport like a passing daydream—capturing quiet, tender moments of joy, reunion, and departure, it offers a corner to pause, to feel, and to let yourself be gently held by the rhythm of the journey.

Inspired by the vibrant hues of the Long Beach coast and the gentle pace of this open-air terminal, the piece drifts through a series of poetic vignettes—quiet moments of anticipation, tender reunions, and the elegant choreography of travelers in motion.

Filmed through a diffused lens and set against a blissful, shifting gradient palette, the work captures silhouettes of voyagers moving through the rhythms of departure and return.

Each scene portrays fleeting, intimate interactions—a parent lifting a child into their arms, a couple embracing upon arrival, friends waving goodbye. These moments, both personal and universal, unfold like impressionistic moving paintings.

Synchronized with the time of day, the piece transforms both embarkation and arrival into a serene, almost meditative encounter. It invites travelers and visitors alike to pause, reflect, and feel—offering a warm welcome, a soft place to land or lift off, and a corner filled with delight, connection, and a quiet glow of wonder. ♡
